About me

It's me...

My name is Maria del Mar, I am married and the proud mother of a wonderful daughter.

Most people call me Marimar or Mari :)

I work part-time as an office manager and am also a freelance flamenco dance teacher, choreographer and dancer.

Flamenco is my passion - mi Pasion

...and this is my story!

Even in my mother's belly I was able to feel the flamenco fire.

At the sweet age of 2 I started dancing flamenco... well, the same things you do at 2 years old - dance around wildly and have fun.

Flamenco has always been a big topic in our family. My mom danced and sang and is known as "la Terremoto". My grandpa loved flamenco - singing was his passion. He sang fandangos and I danced.

From about the age of 4 I started taking lessons in various dance clubs.

Over the years I have been taught a lot by many different lecturers - which has been an enormous gift for me, as I have been able to learn something new from each one of them and thus develop myself further.

When I was 9, I also started dancing in the guards - I was crazy about dancing and couldn't get enough.

At the age of 17, I discovered my new passion... teaching! I taught children and adults at the Spanish cultural association Centro Andaluz de Nürnberg eV.

I attended workshops with Montse Suarez, Mawi, Ursula Moreno and many others. But one woman in particular believed in me: my teacher Pilar Moreno... Her strictness pushed me forward... and I am very grateful to her for that!!!

I continued dancing and teaching until shortly before the birth of my daughter.

And so my daughter was able to feel the flamenco fire in my belly.

Even now, flamenco is still a big topic in our family.

My daughter is lucky to have so much flamenco blood in her - my husband is a flamenco dancer and musician, her grandpa Manolo is a great flamenco singer, her aunts are dancers... a bit of everything.

In 2014 I decided to start my dance school. At first it was just a hobby!

MADEMA FLAMENCO - it was immediately clear that I would choose this name for my dance school.

Why? Ma de Ma - Maria del Mar :)

My sister Jessica Maria Moreno Martinez and I then decided to start a group.

"Body and soul"

Jessica is a great support to me, she has always been by my side and who I can trust 100%.

In 2014 I started teaching a small group of 4 girls aged 2 to 5.

In 2015 another group was formed and in 2017 more and more children and adults joined.

In addition to my groups, from 2016 to 2019 I taught for Andrea Grüner from "Aire Flamenco",

for Sara Ruiz from "Onda Flamenca" and for the adult education center. To this day I teach for the Spanish cultural association "Centro Español".

For me, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing my students on stage presenting what they have learned. Seeing how they grow and develop, each in their own way with love and passion. For me, that is priceless and the greatest gift.

I maintain a very close relationship with the parents of my students - this is very important to me - because after all, they trust me with their children - and I value that very much.
